Hook: 8 - 14
Body: Bronze Peacock herl
Hackle: Red or brown cock
Whisks: Same as hackle
Wings: White Duck or calf tail
Method:
Bind hook half-length of hook shank then back half of the binding. Tie in wings. If using calf tail bind down well, bind in front of wing, divide wing with exing pattern. Bind back to tail then take four Peacock herls tie on. Wrap around thread five times then build a plump body. Tie on hackle and wrap behind wing three wraps and three in front. Tie off and whip finish. This fly can be used both wet or dry on rivers and lakes.
It is a general purpose fly. The white wings help you to see the fly at dusk or against a dark background. It is also useful when beetles both green and brown are flying.
